It is the intention of the Executive Board for the Fox Valley Men’s Club to accommodate as many members in Wednesday League team play as possible. In order to do this the board has adopted the following changes:
1. New teams will be added to the 18 and 9 hole league only if a current team drops out.
2. Previous team members cannot split up to form 2 new teams without the approval of the Executive Board.
3. All 2 man teams should actively pursue a 3rd partner as a permanent alternate or a rotating member that would play every 2nd or 3rd week.
4. All permanent alternates will automatically be entered on the substitute list and are eligible to substitute on other teams.
5. Teams may only participate in league play during the prescribed Wednesday tee times for the Fox Valley Men’s Club.
Your Men’s Club enrollment will entitle you to the following:
1. Opening golf stag and dinner.
2. Fox Run Match Play Tournament.
3. Saturday & Sunday Men’s Club special events.
4. Closing golf stag and dinner.
5. One $25 Split Club ticket.

Scoring Rules
Matches will be based on a 10 point per match system for the 9 hole league and 20 points per match for the 18 hole league. Each league match will be worth 10 (9 hole league) or 20 (18 hole league) points. We will be playing a two man best ball system with the team having the better ball being awarded 1 point for each hole won. If the better ball on the hole is tied, the lowest score of each of the partners balls will break the tie. If the hole is still tied each team will earn ½ (.5) point for the hole. The team with the most points at the end of nine holes will earn a 1 point bonus or the 10th point for the 9 hole segment (or 9 hole match in the case of the 9 hole league). If the teams are tied at 4 ½ points each at the end of the 9 hole segment they would split the bonus point and finish with 5 points each for that 9 hole segment.
Since this is a better ball format, the second ball will only come into play if the two low balls from each team are tied for the hole. In this case, the lower of the two partners’ balls will determine the winner of the hole. Pace of play is and always will be a concern so once again, and this must be adhered to in order for it to work, pick up your ball and move on if you are out of the hole.
Scoring Example
9 & 18 Hole Leagues
Team 1 wins holes 1, 3, 6 & 7
Team 2 wins holes 4, 5 & 8
Ties on holes 2 & 9
Team 1 awarded 5 points for the holes won and tied
Team 2 awarded 4 points for their holes won and tied
Team 1 awarded extra 1 point for winning most holes
18 Hole League “Back Nine” use same scoring format
